Installing on NGINX or a VPS

NGINX does not read .htaccess files, so it needs a server block. The zip includes a ready-made one: nginx.conf.example.

  1. Create a MySQL or MariaDB database and a user with all privileges on it.

  2. Extract the zip into your web root (for example /var/www/aio). The folders config, storage and uploads must be writable by the PHP-FPM user.

  3. Copy the server block from nginx.conf.example, set the root and your PHP-FPM socket, then reload NGINX.

  4. Open https://your-domain.com/install.php and follow the steps (see Installing on cPanel for what each step asks).

The deny rules are required

The example blocks web access to private folders such as config/ and storage/. Without these rules, configuration and cache files would be publicly readable. The installer checks this and will not continue while storage/ is reachable from the web.

Installing in a subfolder

See the note at the end of nginx.conf.example.

Scheduled cleanup

Old cache files, history and counters are cleaned up automatically while people use the site. On busy sites, add an hourly cron job instead. Admin → System check shows the exact command for your server, for example:

0 * * * * php /var/www/aio/cron.php
